From Newsletter to Blog: Change is Underway!
Longstanding members of Learning Forward Michigan will notice that we are moving from a static newsletter to an interactive, multi-author blog for delivering the latest on professional learning in Michigan. Several years ago we moved from a print to online newsletter; today’s change comes as we anticipate member needs for timely information within a highly networked learning environment. Our purpose, however, remains the same:
- To advocate and support standards-based professional learning,
- To bring attention to state policy issues with implications for professional learning,
- To connect Michigan teacher and leaders responsible for leading professional learning,
- To provide a venue for sharing best practices in professional learning,
- To link readers to resources and tools that support effective practice.
Members of the LFM Executive Board, together with invited guests, will serve as initial authors of this new blog. Our goal will be to upload new articles on a monthly basis. If you’d like to contribute an article or resource – and we hope you do – please send your contributions to us at Cynthia Carver (carver2@oakland.edu) or Catherine Meyer-Looze (meyerlca@gvsu.edu). Similarly, we welcome your feedback on how well we are meeting this mission. Your feedback and contributions are always appreciated!
